Date night ideas scientifically proven to strengthen your relationship

Would you like some date night ideas that are scientifically proven to strengthen your relationship? Well, keep reading because I am about to share my top five date ideas that have the potential to improve your relationship.

1. Take a trip down memory lane

Return to the bar you met at or revisit the place you went on your first date. Taking a trip down memory lane helps us to remember what it was like when we fell in love. It also helps us feel more optimistic and inspired about the future.

2. Get your heart racing

Couples who sweat together, stay together! Exercising together increases your happiness with your relationship. Couples who participate in an exciting physical activity together report feeling more in love and more satisfied with their partner.

3. Complete a chocolate making workshop Get your creativity flowing and your sweet tooth satisfied with a chocolate making workshop. Having fun making chocolate together helps you to build your teamwork skills and boosts your creativity. When you eat your delicious chocolate creations they will trigger a chemical cocktail of serotonin, phenylethylalanine and theobromine which recreate the euphoria of falling in love.

4. Do something that makes you nervous Stepping outside of our comfort zone can be a great idea for date night. The same feelings we get when we are nervous are associated with attraction, so they can actually make us feel more attraction to our spouse. Why not try rock climbing, a high robes course or indoor skydiving?

5. Stay home Making date night happen can be challenging. Perhaps you cannot find a baby sitter or the budget is tight. An at home date night might be just what you need! You might like to build a blanket fort together, make some microwave popcorn, pour a glass of wine and watch an old favourite movie or a suspense filled thriller!
